Additionally, the lack of air conditioning meant uncomfortable heat, forcing me to sleep with the windows open, which allowed in bugs. The towels provided were also quite old, which detracted from the overall experience.

The staff were responsive and provided helpful travel tips, making my explorations around the area much easier. However, the lack of air conditioning made some evenings uncomfortable, especially during warmer nights. Also, parking was limited and required a little walking from the car to the hotel. Despite these minor inconveniences, the stunning views from my room overlooking the hills and the warm hospitality made the stay worthwhile.

This was just a good pick for a quick trip in Appenzell with very good value for money. The breakfast had a great variety of local cheeses that I really enjoyed. Make sure to try the pastries. they're freshly baked every morning.
